PHOTOGRAPHS FOR THE NATIONAL HERITAGE MONTH

The month of May of every year is declared National Heritage Month. During the Philippine Heritage Month, Filipinos are encouraged to observe a month-long celebration of our rich cultural and historical heritage, including Filipino traditions and customs, as manifested in our cuisine, art, music, dance, fashion, literature, architecture, and others.

SMILES FOR THE WORLD: A FILIPINO PHOTO ESSAY CONTEST ON CALIDAD HUMANA

The national photography essay competition dubbed as “Smiles for the World”, jointly organized by the Embassies of Chile and Brazil in the Philippines, the Cultural Center of the Philippines, University of Santo Tomas, University of Asia & the Pacific, University the Philippines, Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, Coca Cola, Ms. Donald’s and the Philippine Star.  It is intended to showcase through the medium of photography and a short essay the delight of the Filipino smile as an expression of human qualities such as friendship, steadfastness, cheerfulness, optimism, fortitude and resilience, among others, thus portraying a culture of excellence in society.

NOTICE TO AIRPORT AND SEAPORT PASSENGERS

ADVISORY ON THE DISCONTINUANCE OF THE EXTENSION OF VALIDITY OF MACHINE READY READABLE PASSPORTS (MRRPs) AND MACHINE READABLE PASSPORTS (MRRPs)

1. In line with the International Civil Aviation Organization's (ICAO) standard requirement that all non-machine readable passports be out of circulation before 24 November 2015, the Embassy wishes to inform the Filipino community that the extension of the validity of machine ready readable passports (MRRPs) – the green passports – has been discontinued.
